Overview

RichardAKiers.com is the official author website of Richard A. Kiers. This website collects only the limited information reasonably needed to understand general website activity, respond to inquiries, and operate the site. Personal information is not sold or rented.

Private visitor statistics

The website keeps private, basic records of visits so Richard can understand which pages and books are being viewed. These records may include:

  • the page visited;
  • the date and time of the visit;
  • the referring website, when one is available; and
  • a randomly generated session identifier used to distinguish one browsing session from another.

The random session identifier is stored temporarily in your browser's session storage. It is not your name, email address, telephone number, or social-media identity. The website does not use these statistics to create personal advertising profiles, and the statistics dashboard is private.

Speaking and podcast inquiries

If you complete and submit the general inquiry form or the speaking and podcast questionnaire, your answers are sent directly through this website and stored in a private inquiry inbox. The information may include your name, organization, email address, optional telephone number, city, country, website or social-media page, event or program information, selected topics, message, as well as your acceptance of the podcast appearance terms when applicable.

This information is used only to review, answer, and coordinate your inquiry. It is not added to a marketing list without separate consent. The private inquiry inbox is restricted to Richard, and submissions are retained only as long as reasonably needed for communication, scheduling, record-keeping, or legal purposes.

The Bigger Conversation guest applications

If you apply to be a guest on The Bigger Conversation, the website stores the contact information, selected conversation categories, interview-format preference, background, proposed subject, links, availability, other information you voluntarily provide, and your confirmation that you read and understood the guest and editorial disclaimer. Richard uses this information only to evaluate, answer, and coordinate possible podcast appearances. An application does not add you to the mailing list or guarantee an interview.

Mailing list

If you voluntarily join Richard's mailing list, the embedded subscription form is provided by Brevo. Brevo processes your email address, subscription and confirmation status, signup time, and limited technical information needed to protect and operate the form. You must confirm your subscription through an email link before you are added to the active newsletter list.

This information is used only to send monthly updates about Richard's books, podcasts, appearances, speaking work, and related author news. It is not sold, rented, or added from an inquiry without separate permission. Brevo acts as the email-list and newsletter service provider; its own privacy policy also applies to its processing.

You may unsubscribe at any time through the link included in every newsletter, by replying to an update, or by emailing books@richardakiers.com with the subject line Unsubscribe. Your address will then be removed from future mailings, subject to any limited record-keeping required by law.

Email and direct correspondence

Information voluntarily sent to books@richardakiers.com will be used for the purpose of the correspondence, such as a book, media, speaking, podcast, publishing, or general inquiry. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is not necessary for your request.

Cookies and similar technology

This website does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers. It uses browser session storage for the random visitor-session identifier described above. The embedded Brevo subscription form may use essential technical storage or security measures needed to operate the form and prevent abuse. Website hosting, email, and security providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver, protect, and maintain their services.

Outside websites

The website contains links to services and websites operated by others, including Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, podcast platforms, media organizations, and charities. When you follow one of those links, the other organization's privacy practices apply. RichardAKiers.com does not control how those outside services collect or use information.

Protection and retention

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or loss. Visitor statistics and correspondence are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for website administration, communication, record-keeping, or legal purposes, after which they may be deleted or anonymized.

Your choices and privacy rights

You may ask whether personal information about you is held, request access to or correction of that information, or ask that it be deleted when continued retention is not reasonably required. You may also withdraw consent for future use, subject to legal or record-keeping requirements.

To make a privacy request or ask a question, email books@richardakiers.com with the subject line Privacy inquiry. Enough information may be requested to confirm identity before disclosing or changing a record.

Children's privacy

This author website is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact Richard to request its removal.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the website's services or information practices change. The current version and its revision date will always appear on this page.
