The Bigger Conversation

Guest and editorial disclaimer

A plain-language explanation of guest responsibility, editorial care, and what participation in the podcast means.

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Purpose of the podcast

The Bigger Conversation is intended to provide a respectful forum for guests to share experiences, opinions, expertise, and perspectives. Participation in the podcast does not mean that Richard A. Kiers or the program endorses every statement, opinion, or conclusion expressed by a guest.

Guest responsibility

Guests are responsible for the statements they make and for presenting their experiences and opinions honestly. Guests should not disclose confidential, unlawfully obtained, or legally restricted information. They should also avoid identifying private individuals or making allegations that they cannot reasonably support.

Editorial process

Recordings may be edited for length, clarity, sound or picture quality, privacy, safety, and the protection of both the guest and the host. Editing may remove repetition, personal information, unsupported allegations, or material that creates unnecessary legal or personal risk.

Editing will not intentionally change a guest's words, opinion, or intended meaning. If a substantial or potentially controversial edit could affect context or meaning, Richard will provide the relevant edited portion to the guest for verification before public release. This verification is intended to confirm that the guest has been represented faithfully. Final editorial and publication decisions remain with The Bigger Conversation.

Selection and publication

Submitting an application does not guarantee an interview, and recording an interview does not guarantee publication. Either party may withdraw before recording. After recording, the podcast may decide not to publish an episode or may delay its release. Once an episode has been published or distributed through outside platforms, every copy may not be capable of being recalled.

General information only

Podcast conversations are provided for general information and discussion. They are not a substitute for legal, medical, mental-health, financial, or other professional advice. Listeners should consult an appropriately qualified professional about their own circumstances.

Application acknowledgment

By submitting a guest application, the applicant confirms that they are at least 18 years old, have read and understood this disclaimer, and understand that separate recording and participation details will be confirmed before an interview takes place.
