About the book

When silence protects institutions instead of children.

Silent Voices examines what happens when children live beneath systems of religious or institutional authority that cannot be questioned. Drawing on survivor accounts and leadership analysis, Richard explores coercive control, fear, isolation, discipline, and the ways adults and institutions can fail to hear children whose stories were never told.

Written to reach both religious and secular readers, the book does not condemn belief. It asks a more urgent question: what safeguards are required whenever adults are entrusted with authority over children? At its heart, Silent Voices is a call for accountability, compassionate listening, and protection that does not depend on an institution policing itself.
